Our History

The Christian church in Harriman was the first to build a permanent structure church building after the town was formed. The original church building was built in 1901. A new facility, including a new sanctuary and educational wing, was built in the late 50's and early 60's. Our sanctuary seats 250 people and the educational wing is more than adequate to meet the church's needs.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONE AND ONLY SON OF GOD, WHO DIED FOR OUR SINS AND AROSE FROM THE DEAD.

FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE ARE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO TRUST CHRIST AS SAVIOR AND LORD.

THOSE ACCEPTING CHRIST SHOULD REPENT OF SIN, CONFESS THEIR FAITH, AND BE BAPTIZED INTO HIM.

THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST ON EARTH, EMPOWERED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND EXISTS TO EVANGELIZE THE LOST AND EDIFY THE SAVED.

We are to go into the World and share the gospel message of Jesus with everyone we meet.

God expects us (the church) to be prepared for his coming by using our talents and our treasures to serve others by feeding, clothing and housing them in his name. He also expect that we will minister and love on the sick and incarcerated.

First Christian Church of Harriman exists to bring people to Jesus and membership in his family, to develop them to Christ-like maturity, and to equip them for their ministry in the church and life mission in the world, in order to glorify God.
